"Productive" meaning "bought lots of stuff".
This morning started off with lots of rain, thunder and - as I understand it - even some hail in certain areas. Fortunately it died down enough a bit after 10 that I wasn't all, "OMG I DUN WANNA DIE" leaving the house. Went down to Pages and bought the most awesome book ever:
A Really Super Book About Squirrels
Oh squirrel We live so close yet we can't be friends Sometimes I see you Sitting on the fence Eating and I think you would make a good friend. When I try to give you a nut you run away
T^T
More page previews from Googlebooks lololo
Also, this convenience store that used to be at the corner of Queen and McCaul that closed down a while back has been converted into some sort of marketing promotion spot for the new Harry Potter movie. It's plastered with wide format prints of the movie on the outside and the interior was redone like a movie set - it totally looks like the inside of some wizard's library or an old magic shop. It was closed so I could only look through the windows and there were notices all over the places about an opportunity to see Tom Felton (the actor who plays Draco). lol wut
I also bought new sandals and lots of felt for exciting new crafting project at Joanna's next week. WHOO lol

Toph is one of, if not 'the', my favorite characters from avatar. It is really a toss up between her and uncle, both characters speak to different parts of me. Man, what a deceptively deep cartoon. I love it.
Here we have an older Toph, no doubt sparring with an older Aang. I choose to keep her boyish features, made her thin, kept the bangs to illustrate she doesn’t use her eyes. I think she looks a bit too tall but I didn’t want to mess with it much more so I left it. If she were standing next to another character, her height would still be alright I think. We’d see she’s still short. She’d still be the pint-sized juggernaut we love.

So last night, I had the most REALISTIC dream that a bunch of friends and I were staying at a motel, because the next day we were all going on a journey to the Nam-Yensa Sandsea while riding giant dragon creatures.
I mean seriously - it was SO realistic that when I woke up this morning I was actually confused at why I was at home. It took about 10 minutes for me to realize that, in reality, I could never really go visit the Nam-Yensa Sandsea..... *bangs head on desk*
I haven't played FFXII in months, I guess this is a sign for me to pick it up again. XD;;;;

I keep visiting this community but for some odd reason I have never posted anything before now. Time to change that. :)
I have two wonderful malamutes, Kato at nine years old and Sheena at twelve years. These two fuzzballs never fail to keep my life interesting and are known affectionately as 'Fatso' and 'Hairball' by their many friends. Both are females and both were adopted as adults from the local SPCA. Sheena was my introduction to the breed and there's no going back now. Malamutes are the best dogs around.

Title: Champion
Mangaverse, up to chapter 84 or so.
Pairing: EdWin
Summary: He's taking a bit of her with him, wherever he goes.
FMA belongs to the lady with the million aces up her sleeves- Hiromu Arakawa.
I wrote this wondering why Winry does not get her earrings back in chapter 84. Note: I realize this is very similar to evil_little_dog 's 'Tokens of Her Esteem' (Good story, check it out!) I actually posted this on my ff.net account a while ago. In any case, this was inspired by the EdWin forums on ff.net. So, kudos to them. :) Enjoy, and please comment.
( He was no knight, and Winry was no princess... )

So I am now backing up all my miscellaneous old drives content to my newer 1TB drive. This way, I don't have to hook another drive up to grab all my old information. But grah - this is taking a while. *sigh*
Also! OOAK Timbuk2 Messenger bag on auction until midnight tonight!

Pages is closing ...
:{ I always liked going there. I loved checking out the window dedicated to an art display or installation by a local artist, and they carried so many indie publications and handmade zines and comics. :{ Must be sure to stop by this weekend.

Yesterday I woke up to discover that I'd developed a zit right in the middle of my surgical scar.
How does that... what... man, things I was completely unprepared to see!

From The Magic Box:
"Capcom announced its new action game S[e]ngoku Basara 3 will adopt a new facial animation technology "AniFace" by Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR). AniFace will record dialogue language and generate lip-synched animation automatically, which saves a lot of development time."
The characters will move their mouths now!? :( Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Or maybe it's only during those movie cutscenes?

An old friend of mine works on this really fantastic and great web comic called Nemu Nemu and I just want to help spread the word. It isn't crude, it isn't full of dirty jokes, it's just bright, it's happy, and most of all it is sweet. I don't see enough of this kind of wonder in our world. It makes me remember what it was like being a kid. It makes me feel the same way Calvin and Hobbes does.
Please go scope it out, enjoy something sweet and cute today. ^^

This release sports a new binary protocol, major performance improvements, and many new statistics. Major kudos to the work of other people (Trond, Dustin, Toru) who put most of the effort into this new release.
Check out the release notes and give it a shot on your site. Please let us know if you've deployed it and any feedback you might have :)

A couple of weeks ago I realized that my monitor had become haunted. A little glowing ghostly white sphere--a will o' wisp, if you will--floated in one corner of the display, drifting back and forth as I moved my head in for a closer look. I use the term 'sphere' advisedly, mind you. Close observation noted that the will o' wisp was, to all indications, three-dimensional.
This would not stand, of course, especially in a monitor that was under a year old and still under warranty. So I hied its flat butt down to the Apple store and plunked it on the counter. "EXORCISE MY MONITOR, PLEASE."
The Genius plugged in my monitor, spotted the little sphere, and was just as confused as I was. He'd never seen anything like it. My monitor was in perfect shape otherwise, so it wasn't as if I'd bruised the screen--it didn't look like a bruise in any case, said the Genius. So he tagged my monitor for repair and shipped it off to California, ghost and all, and I went home to use my laptop in the way that Apple had originally intended, for the space of a week.
Today I was informed that my monitor was back. Apparently the priest in charge of the exorcism replaced the entire LCD screen, a $300 repair that I got for bupkes because of the aforementioned warranty. And the ghost is gone. I brought home my monitor, hooked it up, and checked: no ghost.
"GREAT," said I, and immediately went to extend my warranty for another two years, because if my fancy-ass Apple Cinema Display is going to pop a ghost at eleven months old, I think I might need that AppleCare package.
... in other news, I am learning my way around Seattle's public transport system, which is excellent, if occasionally pretty fucking Byzantine in its details. I have an ORCA card (One Regional Card for All: motto: It Works Almost Half The Time) which is a reloadable prepaid card that can be used on any of King County's myriad public-transportation systems--bus, trolley, light rail, ferry, van pool, unicorn carriage--and I love it to pieces, partially because it is so incredibly handy and easy to use, and partially because whenever it fucks up the bus driver tells me not to worry about it and I get a free ride.
It tastes like freedom and it gets me to the doctor without my having to beg for rides. Also it takes me to interesting places, like the Westlake bus terminal, where I can wait for the 12 to First Hill while being serenaded by a free-range flautist, tempted by the close proximity to Pike Place Market, inspected by crazy people, and nearly pooped upon by a mounted policeman's very large and calm horse.
Finally, I wish to report that today's high was sixty-four degrees. They will remove me from Seattle when they can pry my claws out of the doorframe.
